| |||||||||||||
Containers to be used for the sampling
Sample containers must be clean and free from all substances which might contaminate the material being sampled (such as water, dirt, lint, washing compounds, naphtha and other solvents, soldering fluxes, acids, rust, and oil). |
Safety precautions and risk assessment
Please refer to your national legislation and guidelines on health and safety.
- See SDS or ADR if available.
- Pay attention to safety and warning signs.
- Wear personal protective equipment.
- You should be aware of and follow any health and safety instructions in the local risk assessment and/or safe working practices for the location where the sampling is to take place.
Personal protective equipment
- Hand protection: if necessary
- Eye protection: if necessary
- Head protection: if necessary
Sampling plan
Type of consignment | Procedure |
Consignments for customs clearance
One aggregate sample consisting of an appropriate number of incremental samples chosen randomly or systematically throughout the consignment. When you are satisfied the consignment is homogeneous, one incremental sample is usually taken as representing the goods covered by the same customs declaration.
Rolls with filaments | |
Measure 10 m of the filament and cut it with a pair of scissors or a knife.
Rolls with foil, strips, floor coverings, wall or ceiling covers
Cut approx. 1 m2 (piece of 100 cm x 100 cm) with the appropriate tool (scissors or knife).
Tubes, pipes, hoses | |
Cut approx. 1 m of the tube, pipe or hose with a saw, scissors or a knife depending on the material the sample is made of.
Plates, sheets, film, foil, strips, floor, wall or ceiling coverings in tiles
Take as many plates, sheets or tiles that would cover a surface of 1 m2 as sample.
Articles | |
1 piece or refer to the specific sampling card of Retail packages and finished articles. |
