Instrument Code:L04-01Name:Sampling scoopSynonyms:Chemistry scoopDescription: Scoop-like sampler made of plastics (PP, PTFE) or metals (Al, stainless steel). Can be equipped with a telescopic rod. Usual dimensions: capacity from 100 ml to 1 000 ml. The top of the scoop may be serrated for drawing surface samples.Picture: Application: Sampling of liquids from open or closed barrels, vats, tanks and silos. Sampling of liquids from easily accessible places. Sampling of heterogeneous liquids or particles from the liquid surface.Operation: The sampling scoop with a serrated rim is mounted on a telescopic rod handle. The scoop is dipped into the material being sampled and the sample is taken. If it contains the upper contaminating layer, it can be poured out through the serrated rim. The sample is then poured into the sample bottle. If a surface sample is required, the scoop is dipped only over the ridged rim and the sample from the surface can be drawn.Typical examples: Liquids with surface contamination, sampling of water contaminated with organic liquids, separation of non-miscible portions.Cleaning and maintenance: Wash with water or organic solvents and dry at room temperature.List of tools Recommended Sampling Tools
